  • Hair follicle - part of the skin that grows hair by packing old cells together.
  • Antibiotic acne treatment - killing the bacteria in the blocked follicles by the intake of antibiotics like tetracycline, doxycycline and minocycline.
  • Acne skin chemical exfoliating agents - include salicylic acid and glycolic acid. These encourage the peeling of the top layer of skin to prevent a build-up of dead skin cells which combine with skin oil to block pores.
